Massage therapy can be a valuable part of care for many disabled people. It’s not about curing a condition – but about creating space for rest, relief, and connection with your body.

Our therapists are trained to adapt massage for people with a range of physical, neurological, and developmental needs. Whether someone is managing muscle tightness, reduced mobility, sensory overload, or simply the impact of stress, we meet each person where they are—with respect and skill.

What Are the Possible Benefits?

While everybody responds differently, some people report:

Greater ease in tight or spasming muscles

Feeling more relaxed or regulated

Relief from swelling or heaviness in limbs

Improved sleep or restfulness

A sense of calm, comfort, or emotional balance

Massage may also support healthy circulation, reduce the discomfort of long periods of sitting or lying down, and provide positive, consent-based touch in a safe setting.

Physical Disabilities & Massage

For those living with conditions like Parkinson’s, multiple sclerosis, spinal cord injury, or stroke, massage is tailored to work gently and safely around the body’s needs. We don’t treat medical conditions—but we understand how they show up in the body, and how to support you with care.

People who use wheelchairs, experience muscle spasticity, or have reduced movement often find massage helpful for easing tension, reducing discomfort, or simply reconnecting with their body in a positive way.

Developmental & Sensory Disabilities

Massage may also be helpful for people with autism, ADHD, Down syndrome, or intellectual disabilities. Our approach is flexible and responsive—we adapt the environment, pressure, communication, and length of session based on what feels right for the individual.

Some clients report feeling more grounded, calm, or connected after regular sessions. Parents and carers have also noticed reduced stress or agitation in some people receiving massage therapy.

Important Notes

Massage is not a replacement for medical treatment, and results vary from person to person. We work alongside your needs – not in place of your existing support. Our therapists are fully qualified, insured, and trained in working with disabled clients. We welcome carers, support staff, and communication aids in sessions.

Ready? Let’s Talk!

We’re happy to answer questions, discuss access needs, or offer a trial session if you’re unsure. We offer home and care setting visits depending on location.
