Neuro Massage FAQs

Most Frequently Asked Questions and Answers

Neurological disabilities are conditions that affect the brain, spinal cord, and nervous system. This can include stroke, Parkinson’s, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis (MS), and cerebral palsy, among others. These conditions may affect movement, muscle tone, coordination, pain levels, and how the body processes sensation.

Massage can be a supportive therapy for people living with neurological disabilities. While it doesn’t treat the condition itself, it may help ease tension, support circulation, reduce discomfort, and promote relaxation. For many clients, massage offers a valuable space for rest, relief, and connection with their body.

Everybody responds differently. Some people notice reduced swelling or tightness, improved comfort, or a sense of calm after treatment. Massage may also support healthy blood and lymph flow, which can affect the colour, temperature, or feel of the skin in some areas.

Your therapist will arrive at the agreed time and location—whether that’s your home, hospital, care setting, or another accessible space.

Massage can be given on a table, in a bed or hospital bed, in a supportive chair, or even in a wheelchair. We’ll work with you to find what feels best. If needed, some of our therapists can assist with transfers.

Your first session includes a consultation, where we’ll learn about your needs, health conditions, and preferences. We’ll discuss positioning, areas you’d like to focus on, and what’s most important to you in the session. Your comfort and consent guide everything we do.
